On August 24th, EPCAMR staff, EPCAMR volunteers, John Karpien and Dawson Hughes, and Wilkes University (WU) volunteers hosted an AMD Tie-Dye Workshop for nearly 50 students, in partnership with the Newport Township Community Organization (NTCO) in Wanamie, Pennsylvania. EPCAMR has worked with NTCO for many years on illegal dump site cleanups throughout the southern portion of the Wyoming Valley. Nearly 20 WU Resident Assistants offered their services for the day. Special guest at the event was SpongeBob SquarePants, who happened to be on most of the shirts that were tie-dyed.
