EPCAMR was selected as one of the 2011 NEPA CreateAthon project recipients! Northeastern Pennsylvania nonprofit organizations are the beneficiaries of free marketing and creative services, provided by cds creative, inc. and Dawe Consulting, LLC, along with a growing team of creative service volunteers in the 10th annual NEPA CreateAthon. CreateAthon is a 24-hour event in which agencies across North America develop creative and strategic marketing materials for nonprofit organizations in their area, pro bono. The NEPA CreateAthon team provides marketing and creative services to nonprofit organizations in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Lehigh, Monroe, and Wyoming Counties (other counties are considered on a special needs basis). CreateAthon volunteers include local artists, writers, web designers, coders, among others. They are very excited about EPCAMR’s marketing and branding project and look forward to working with us in mid-September. EPCAMR is scheduled to meet with cds creative, inc. and Dawe Consulting, LLC by the end of August, in order to gather more information and determine what EPCAMR needs to move forward with spreading the word about the work we do in the region.
“Catherine Shafer brought CreateAthon to Northeastern Pennsylvania 10 years ago and it has grown every year,” says John Dawe, President of Dawe Consulting, LLC. “Last year, cds creative, inc.’s CreateAthon event provided marketing services to 15 nonprofit organizations. The market value of the work produced during the event is an estimated $50, 000.”
Shafer will be out of the area on the day of CreateAthon, but will be helping out with the preparation work. “CreateAthon is a way for us to support our community by providing marketing materials that can help nonprofits reach new donors and sources and create more awareness of their organizations,” Shafer added. “The CreateAthon group is tremendously talented.”
On the September 15th, the free marketing consultants, graphic designers, web designers, and others will start bright and early and, 24 hours later, will present mock-ups of the projects to the nonprofits chosen this year. EPCAMR has marked its calendar for Friday, September 16th at 9 am to join the CreateAthon team at Wyoming Seminary for the unveiling.
