This will render within the placeholder div --><br \/>\n<script type=\"text\/javascript\">\n  new Twitch.Player(\"twitch-embed\", {\n    width: 600,\n    height:400,  \n    channel: \"epcamr_trout_tank\"\n  });\n<\/script><br \/>\n\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You are viewing our demonstration trout in the classroom tank located in our office. \u00a0If you would like to see them, test water and\/or feed them in person, please set up a visit with <a href=\"https:\/\/epcamr.org\/home\/contact-us\/\">EPCAMR staff<\/a>. \u00a0The trout eggs arrive the second week of January.\u00a0 We are excited to raise these little fingerlings and release them into nearby approved trout stream. \u00a0We would like to thank Stanley Cooper Chapter of Trout Unlimited (for covering a majority of the supply costs), PA Trout Unlimited and PA Fish and Boat Commission for their support and training.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Below is archive footage of different steps of development\/activities. \u00a0Reminder, these are live feeds. \u00a0We realize they need some editing, but we didn&#8217;t want to halt the availability of the videos. \u00a0We will get them off DailyMotion, edit them and repost them at a later time.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailymotion.com\/embed\/video\/x6wtssg\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Acclimating the eggs to the tank.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailymotion.com\/embed\/video\/x6wtuco\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Counting and sorting the viable eggs. \u00a0We typically end up with ~200 viable eggs. \u00a0The milky white &#8220;dead&#8221; eggs are sorted out and the yellowish pink live eggs are placed in the redds. P.s. We actually use a spoon now to gently scoop them out instead of the turkey baster which could damage the very fragile eggs. We&#8217;re always learning and trying to use the best practices!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailymotion.com\/embed\/video\/x6y000w\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">After the eggs hatch, they are in the Alevin Stage. The alevin have huge yolk bellies that they feed off for several more weeks.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.dailymotion.com\/embed\/video\/x6ya9ub\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Twin Alevin! We often get twins that are connected in different places or ones that are curled up around their yolk belly. Unfortunately, these guys don&#8217;t survive to be released but if they learn to eat and swim they will grow.<\/p>\n<p>EPCAMR\u2019s participation in the Trout In the Classroom program was made possible through a unique partnership between PA Fish and Boat Commission and PA Council of Trout Unlimited. This partnership, coupled with assistance from local conservation organizations, was created to introduce Pennsylvania students to coldwater resources and their importance to all communities.
